Midsomer Norton

Location: North Somerset

​Urban Design Box provided design services to support the preparation and submission of a planning application for up to 190 dwellings on land at Midsomer Norton. The masterplan proposed a central green focal space and a sensitive edge where the site looks out over agricultural fields.

​The site forms a gateway on the southern approach into the town and is visible from the open countryside to the south. The proposals demanded a considered approach to building height, massing and materials strategy in order to shape the character of the new development.
