​Saltram Meadow is a major mixed-use redevelopment of the former Blue Circle Cement Quarry located in Plymstock on the eastern fringe of Plymouth. The development includes a new school, shops, employment and up to 1,684 homes; all served by new bus services and improved cycle links.

Urban Design Box is providing design services in support of the ongoing development of this large brownfield site specifically the area around the Main Square at the heart of the development. The proposal here is for homes, shops, a cafe and community uses and will include play space and a park opposite the school as part of a contemporary proposal. We have provided masterplan and public realm design as well as facilitating the ongoing design review and consultation process.

The emerging proposals reflect close working with Plymouth City Council and local stakeholders to realise a shared vision for a site at the heart of the existing community and with a high level of public interest..
