Location: Dorset

A detailed masterplan and accompanying Design and Access Statement for a mixed use development off the edge of a Dorset town. The proposals included up to 114 dwellings plus an employment hub. The site lies on the fringe of the settlement and uses locally distinctive farm yard style development to convey the transition to a agricultural landscape.

The proposals were allowed following the submission of an Appeal for non-determination where Design and Appearance was subsequently purported as one of several reasons for refusal. The design reasons for refusal were successfully resolved in the form of a round table session at Public Inquiry at which we provided Expert Witness services for Design.
